Sunday

is family day in Hawaii. Beaches and picnic areas are jammed with locals (fun people watching!).

It's a good day to shop, do a touristy activity, lay low, explore Waikiki, go to a restaurant...

Option Day B - Windward Coast Adventure

Check if President, er former-President, Obama is in town. If so, avoid this area as it gets, basically, shut down for security reasons (he's from here).

  • Early morning:

    • Drive to Lanikai

    • Hike Pillbox (1.5 hours max)

  • Late Morning:

    • Rent kayaks from Kailua and paddle to Mokes (islands)

  • Afternoon:

    • Beach - both Kailua and Lanikai are easy access by car, and MOST spectacular. Don't miss.

    • Picnic

    • Snorkel

    • Swim

      • At Kailua beach it is 600m to little flat island, so 1.2km round trip.
